there were several people showing demonstrations on youtube about 10ish years ago or so. I worked with two guys that demo’d hacking regular old cars when I was working at one of those self-driving car companies.
They were the red team for the company with their goal of hacking the cars and taking them over which I guess they never succeeded in doing… at least as far as I know.
