Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Self hosting email, what's the latest and greatest what FOSS can offer?English
411·1 year agoFor self-hosting, be mindful IP addresses have reputation scores and your IP needs to build them up positively. You need to have reverse DNS set, DKIM, SPF records etc for a more trusted reputation, domain reputation etc to not be flagged and sent to spam folders. I just got the $1/month Proton E-Mail for 10 addresses for 1 custom domain as I didn’t feel like dealing with any of this with self hosting, but props for going the self-hosting route.

71·1 year agoNot our problem. Adtech is cyber warfare. They can find new business models not designed to exploit nor control us.
We need to stop depending on Big Tech giants like AWS, Google, Microsoft. I personally hope it breeds new innovation.
It has been sinking. Adtech is cyber warfare. They sold out. https://make-firefox-private-again.com/ everybody be sure to change your settings in about:config to disable that Anonym bullshit. No, we’re not the ‘product’ we’re human beings.

As long as I can use something that isn’t Chrome’s 0dayware with 5 CVEs a week, I don’t care how many people use it.
Instructions unclear, now you get two sidebars one for each side, another bar at the bottom, all filled with chatbots so you can chatbot while you chatbot. There’s a fee for each one though. Shit isn’t free.
Yeah… technology just isn’t there yet for mozilla. Good idea though, just not feasible. Best they can do are chatbots.
That’s a really cool project. I like your blog I’m going to bookmark it and subscribe to it. You seem really smart. I’ve been trying to dev and make projects work of mine for years with no luck (battle depression), but always happy to see people make awesome things and launch them. Will show all the love and support I can.
Oh wow! Awesome to find the real ones out there that aren’t mad popular. They deserve all the love too.
I never moved away from ini I’ve just been sititng back watching you all re-invent the wheel over and over and over and over and over.
I never thought of that, and that’s actually really cool. thank you!
Absolutely amazing!
That is cool! Right on. It’s all about making good memories and being able to enjoy the good memories and share them, that’s pretty awesome. Definitely qualifies as cool in my books, thanks!

Technology@lemmy.world•In Leak, Facebook Partner Brags About Listening to Your Phone’s Microphone to Serve Ads for Stuff You MentionEnglish
61·1 year agoThen hide it encrypted in an image upload or some other packet. Listen for ‘buy a <something>’ encrypt its text version, wait for something to cargo it with in a data transmission so people looking at data transmissions aren’t any the wiser, hide it in some obscure way that would look normal otherwise, it’s intercepted, sends off to advertisers. Adtech is cyber terrorism.
