    1. If you are only targeting 1080p 60fps then I don’t think you will ever really need FSR because any of these GPUs should be able to handle that without upscaling or extrapolating frames. The only time I would think you might use FSR is with ray tracing, to smooth/blur our the surface boiling and artifacts that occur from ray tracing. You just need to decide if these kinds of features are worth the extra cost. For 1080p 60 fps only, the 7600XT is a great value, but if you think you will upgrade to 1440p or 4k, then you should look at performance benchmarks for all 3 cards for the games you want to play, to decide.
    2. Ryzen 5 7600 uses the same AM5 socket and same motherboards as Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 7 7800X3D. So it’s the same upgrade path and futureproofing
    3. The dangerous power draw is really only true for NVIDIA GPUs, like RTX 5090. AMD has focused on power efficiency and having the highest performance per watt. 7600XT, 7800XT, and 9070XT are all 300W or less
    4. The motherboard is fine

  • The build is overkill for 1080p 60fps.

I’d recommend a 7600XT for 1080p 60fps. The 9070XT is just unnecessary for 1080p in general, it only makes sense to me if you are playing in 1440p or 4K. Sapphire Amd Radeon Pulse RX 7600XT 16GB OC GDDR6 is listed for $505 SGD in your PDF.

You don’t need a Ryzen 7 7700 (or 7800X3D). A Ryzen 5 7600 is a better value and in reality will not be a performance difference in gaming compared to the 7700. You can combo a Ryzen 5 7600 with the same B850 motherboard for $539 SGD in your PDF.

Ryzen 7 7700 is 65W; 9070XT is 300W. You don’t need a 1000W PSU to power a 400W computer. You’d be fine with a 600W PSU for less than half the cost. Silverstone Attis 650W 80+ Bronze Psu is $65 SGD in your PDF.

Total savings: $733 SGD to spend on games or put towards a future upgrade

You could also consider Sapphire Pulse Amd Radeon RX 7800XT Gaming 16GB GDDR6 for $659 SGD, but I think you’d be good with the 7600XT. I don’t recommend a 7700XT because it has 12GB of VRAM while both the 7600XT and 7800XT have 16GB of VRAM.

  • Huh? I can’t speak to “video processing”, but “NVIDIA dominance” isn’t applicable at all for AI, at least generative AI. Pretty much all frameworks for LLM either officially support AMD or have an AMD fork. And literally all image gen frameworks that I am aware of officially support AMD.

I typically see people recommending to buy an AMD GPU over NVIDIA in AI communities…

What AI workloads do you run?

EDIT: Even the app in the OP only supports NVIDIA GPUs for the prepackaged flathub installation. You can run this software with an AMD GPU.
