    In the US there is still a thing ad broadcast TV. Stick a TV antenna up in the air, free TV. Get a tuner card for PC and TV for your PC before streaming was ever a thing. Used it on my laptop when I traveled more. But with setting it up in jellyfin it works but is janky and needs polishing, and setting it up to download the TV guide is kinda a nightmare. With Plex life pass ( this is the feature that made me get it and dropping Comcast cable TV) it just works auto scans for channels and auto downloads TV guide, easy to flip throughout channels even my mom does it.

    You seem passionate, go fight that good fight against skynet. But I guess some sarcasm falls victim to Poe’s law. You go do you I’m going to do me. As I said I do it feel better about my self as an irrational feeling human. Just like when you stub your toe on the side of the coach. Cussing and yelling doesn’t do any thing but it feels good. I’m not going to go out of my way to try and poison it. It’s all a little anecdote and the irrational side of me that I do and thought I’d share because I am acting like the meme. Haha funny right.

    But when do I get to be the professor telling the AI to fuck off like the meme if I do it your way?

    Also I’m sure at this point all my conversion’s are being fed back in to train the next one. And yes I do know it has no memory or feelings or didn’t care and I’m sure Amazon cares about my feedback as much as Microsoft does. At this point like Microsoft I rather tell it to fuck off so the emotional creature that I am can feel better about myself without telling a real person to fuck off. Then do everything I can to avoid it and when the bean counter goes to the higher up and says no one is using it. Maybe just maybe they will see it as a waist of money and ditch it just like Facebook’s metaverse or whatever it was.

    There have been many times when browsing amazon app that Rufas poped up with no prompt or anything, asking if I needed help and every time I tell it to F off and go delete its self ( fallowed by many minutes of me telling it how useless it is). I am sure if AI ever takes over I’ll be one of the first to be taken out as how brutal I treat it every time one pops up in my face. Playing Detroit become Human makes me feel bad but then I get over it quickly.

    3 Things stop from using jellyfin 100% of the time.

    1. TV tuner is janky and loading a guide for local channels is garbage. I like watching the morning local news and jellyfin just does not cut it.

    2. I want sub accounts. They used to have something similar but took it out for security reasons. I want to log all my TVs into one account but then have each user select their profile. So I can easily have a restricted profile for say kids then another for my parents then one for me then one for SO under the same roof. It will track each persons watched profile so when someone watches ahead it doesn’t mess with someone else’s.

    3. On the same note, controller/ HTPC remote configs feel janky. I know its there but its not a smooth and easy as Plex. This goes along with above for anyone who says just make another account. You try entering half decent passwords with small HTPC remotes or controllers. Every time you go to watch TV.

    If they could fix these things I would ditch Plex all the way. But as it stands I use Plex for my TV and jellyfin for my phones, tablets, PC.

    A few years ago I was headed to bed and went to go put the stick into the track. As I stand back up my head ramed into the little dangling rod you use to open and close them. As I do the dance of pain, cursing and hold my head in pain I discover the blood running down the side of my head, fuck. I rip the rod off the track go to throw it. I have a moment of clarity realizing I’m about the throw it at my TV. Still mad I throw it at the floor. I then watch in stunned horror as it bounced and did a little twirl into my TV. Said fuck it and went to bed. The next day I ordered new blinds for my back door ( they dont have a rod but string) and went to Costco for a new TV.

    You know when you make a sandwich or some buttered toast and you set the knife carefully on the edge of the sink. Well because you might decided to make another sandwich latter or your SO goes that looks good can I get one too. And bam your the hero because you now have one less knife to clean in the dishwasher.

    That is why I have so many tabs open. I know I probably won’t need most of them and it’s safe to close them. But oh dang do I feel like a hero when I get that itch for a video I want to watch and I don’t have to look through my history for next 20 minutes because, bam, its right their in that tab.

    I saw two seagulls that had both started eating some long fish guts left by a fisher. It was like a long piece of spaghetti and they started at opposite ends. As they go closer to each other they started fight. One would pull the guts out of the other one scarfed it down then the other one would do the same thing. It was one of the funniest and most disgusting thing I’ve seen. As some point it broke, but hey every time I see Lady and the Trap I think of it.
