I’m almost 50 and none of my grandparents had turned 20 when the war ended. So if this makes you feel old, you are, in fact, old.

It wasn’t until after they all dies that I realised that all the model Spitfires and things my granddad had weren’t from his memories of fighting in WW2. He was in school during WW2. He just liked model planes.

I’m pretty sure my kids will one day ask me “dad, what were the 70s like?” and it’ll dawn on me that my enthusiasm with 1970s progrock has depicted me as being far older than I am

I’m not even 40 yet and my grandparents were in their 30s when the war ended. My parents had me when I was about my age now and similar for my grandparents for my parents.
