After replacing my power supply every three to four years I upgraded to a 1000w supply. Totally excessive to my needs, and it’s been running well for fifteen years now.
Maybe because of better components, maybe because it’s so under loaded. In any event, it’s been an investment that’s paid off.
Hard to see that happening with one this price but maybe for some power users!
I’m still rocking my ax1200 from my 5820k / dual 6970 build from ~ 15 years ago. Replaced the fan last year and it’s still chugging away powering one of the machines in my rack.
Such a decent piece of hardware, sure the load it sees now are minimal compared to a 4.5GHz 22nm CPU + two overclocked GPUs but outside of the fan it’s never missed a beat.
When you need that much power, you would be better off with a workstation or server chassis that has multiple power supplies.

I went from a TX750 V1 (~2009?) that never died to my current SFX unit that’s… never died. Did I just get lucky?
