They’ve been carrying out control of the population through other methods like taking children away from mothers for “humane” reasons. This continues to this day, even having significant media coverage over large (for greenland) protests.
Ultimately it’s an occupied territory without sovereignty governed by a foreign colonial power. That comes with all the same problems as colonialism performed by any other European colonial state historically. They’ve all been evil, and are still evil. Greenland deserves real independence and to be controlled by its indigenous population.
