The mage woman is Frieren from “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” a very good manga with an even better anime adaptation.

This comic has nothing to do with the story however as Frierens story is pure fantasy with no connection to our reality (so no KKK).

    Demon Context (Minor Spoiler)

The “bad guys” in the story are also not in any way comparable to nazis, because the demons in the story are not like “evil humans” but just absolute evil incarnate that has no other purpose to their existence except being evil and killing humans. So the conflict between humans and demons isnt controversial or complex and lacks any sort of deeper meaning. Not that this would make them boring, they are still scary and provide great entertainment value.

The first and second season are the two highest rated anime of all time overtaking the previous top which was undefeated for 14 years, so i think its worth giving it a shot. There is blood and violence of course, but its kept reasonable in my opinion, but its enough to make it rated 13+. The visuals, animation and music are absolutely amazing. The first episode is really tear jerking. There is very little “horny” stuff like you often get with manga/anime which is a plus imo, but there is a good amount of humor.

Is this really for children, though? Yes there’s no “blocker” like too much violence or horniness, but it might be… boring.

I know that enjoying it as a grownup had a lot to do with realizing subtle things about that dealing with loss thing. If you’re an 11 year old and might miss things like the ring/marriage thing, it would essentially be a whole lot of filler around some rather sparse jokes and fight scenes (which I think are only the “side dish” in this anime).

And even if they DO get it, I don’t know how much 11 year olds ENJOY being sad.

I would say it depends heavily on the individual child. 11 is more than old enough to understand death and grief. But i also think it would be very entertaining if you dont get those things.
