Right now, if I want to hide a post, I do one of two things: I either upvote the post (because I feel guilty downvoting just for hiding it) or click on the comments, forcing loading more data, even if I don’t care for the comments of a meme picture, for instance.

In both cases I have to refresh the whole front page, putting even more unnecessary load on the server. Reddit third party Apps used to have a simple hide function that would solve the issue.

Is this unwanted to kind of force participation? I don’t want to up- or downvote posts I feel indifferent about.
