I tried that last run and a stupid grub was in the way. The grub ate the stone and got mobbed and died in a single turn.
That happens, which is where haste or similar effects come in
Thankfully I was basically an invincible warlock that run, so I just shrugged and proceeded to face bash the boss.

Yog could have had 1 or 2 hit points only. That would have hurt more. Right? Right?
What hurts the most to me is when I beat Tengu and then die to fire damage after the battle.
I had one run where I did slightly better…

I learned that I very much dislike the Monk class. But I love the Warlock class! I just completed my first ascension with a warlock. I was basically invincible. Even the final boss couldn’t hurt me. I ended the game with something like 14 healing potions.
