Yes absolutely, we can and should be mitigating and adapting to climate change as an urgent international priority.

We’ll end up fixing it one way or the other, and the sooner we start, the better. There is a lot money pumped into doom mongering to try slow progress as progress will lose certain rich parties a lot of money. But we just keep doing our best and looking for ways to do better. At the end of day, using less saves money and green energy is cheap energy. No one wants to live in poison.

The Government did not give any details about when or where the power stations would be built.

This is the important bit. As frustrating as these ‘commitments’ are there’s no guarantee they’ll even happen.

…because it’s courting the anti-green vote. Since the Ruislip result they think being anti-green will save them. Thing is, most people support being able to breathe clean air.

Or it’s an announcement: Fuck you, we are doing it anyway and we don’t care about telling you where, when, how, much it cost, or who is profiting.

Maybe. Given this governments track record I only believe something is going to happen when it actually does, not when it’s revealed, committed, unveiled, pledged or otherwise. We’ll see I guess.

Sure. I’m an American looking in from the outside and it just… seems like something Sunak would do given his track record.

He’s also next to useless though. I’m sure he’ll try and do it but whether he’ll succeed is another question entirely.

When he comes up against a roadblock he often just gives up. I suppose is a benefit in some way

Why are they still announcing plans? The ship is sinking and they’re announcing plans to have a committee to discuss the rearranging of deck chairs.

They are about five steps back from been too late to implement anything.

Money into soon to be stranded assets? Guess they pissed lots of other money up the wall…
