“Hmm. Nearly every interaction between a male and female character involves him saying something misogynistic, her calling him out, and him frantically backpedaling. Every interaction between two female characters, without fail, involves at least one mentioning how horrible ‘men’ are rather than any individual man in specific. I wonder if – yup, the author’s a woman”

Picks up a misogynistic book, complains about it in a way as if she knows exactly what sex feels for all other women. Also, obviously, now all books about women should be written by women only and books about men by men only.

Sees comic online that they can’t relate to.

      Makes them feel weird.

Makes an inane, oddly icky, quote complaining about the comic.

I can completely relate - picked up a book my girlfriend was reading, which transpired to be a romance novel. It was like reading someone else’s Facebook feed. I understand the words and everything but none of it made any sense at all.
