I mean what about my dog is self sufficient? I literally serve him up meat on a platter and then also play fetch so he can feel like he’s hunting…

Dog cares for you, even if dog is big, cat will cut you down if it was big enough without second thought

Too bad you’ve never had a close bond with a cat. They’re a lot more cuddly and affectionate than non-cat folk give them credit for. Not to say they wouldn’t be dangerous, those claws and teeth are killing weapons. But they wouldn’t intentionally kill their person.

Haha I lived with two cats before, one was a mean grouch who slashed at anyone when he felt like it, funnily enough I was the only one in the family who was able to pet him regularly.

I mostly just petted him rougher than most people so I guess he just liked that. The sister cat was the nicest cat ever, she would let you carry her stretch her out or toss her over your shoulder she never hurt anyone but she killed soo many birds.

the grouchy cat just couldn’t ever figure out how to hunt, he would go to a tree with birds and then meow at them and the birds would fly away, then he would spend the next ten minutes going up the tree and getting stuck

it’s absolutely wild to me that people think this is true, the vast majority of cats i meet will barely hesitate to declare utter strangers family and blithely be picked up like a baby by them.

our family’s cat is barely even capable of hunting mice, simply just not enough braincells to properly finish the job, so they bring a half-dead rodent inside and hope we know what to do with it.

They’re the cat equivalent of a golden retriever
