How many quarts of oil a week you dumping in? That being said, they were simple to work on and maintain. Got good at field-stripping the EGR valve when it got sludge up so I didn’t have to replace it.
I have 2000 Saturn with 220,000 on it. It has been amazingly solid and low TCO.
Of course, they don’t make them anymore, so your point stands. They don’t make them like they used to.

It’s not too bad on the oil around town. That said, if I run it 500 miles on the freeway, I might need to put a quart in. 😅 And yeah on the EGR.
