Some supporters of Joe Biden have been accused of being “Blue MAGA” for their staunch defense of the president in the wake of the CNN debate.

While there is no official definition for the term, Blue MAGA has been used to describe those who are fierce advocates of the so-called “vote blue no matter who” initiative and are not willing to criticize Democrats in any way.

The term has reemerged on social media in the wake of 81-year-old Biden’s languishing and stumbling debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27. This has led to many, including Democrat figures, calling on Biden to end his 2024 campaign in order to allow a new candidate to face-off against 78-year-old Trump in November.

“vote blue no matter who” initiative and are not willing to criticize Democrats in any way.

Wow has the press gone downhill. Maybe they aren’t paid enough to care, but that piece ain’t worth a dime. Allow me to rewrite this article to what it SHOULD have reported if there was any interest in informing the public:

While the Democratic party has historically been known for being far more willing to criticize its own members and polices when compared to Republicans’ willingness to do the same, there is an emerging group of Democrats that no longer do so. They are being called the Blue Maga.

Unlike citizens who will “vote blue no matter who” because they fear another Trump presidency will be the death knell for the United States, the Blue Maga contingent insists that not only must one vote that way, but that all Democratic policies, people, and decisions go unquestioned. It is notable because it is the same sort of reflexive obeisance that they condemn in Trump supporters.

Do you genuinely believe that OP is a bot because he used the term “blueMaga” and so did someone else in the last 15 minutes?

It’s a reference to QAnon because it’s super original.

But crickets from Fidel_Cashflow because why have a discussion if you’re just looking to disrupt the one that others are having?

To be honest i didnt even think about QAnon because so much crazy shit has happened it the meantime. How could I forget about the crazy babyblood-and-pizza cult?

But yeah trying to compare the mild circlewagoning for biden on lemmy to those theocratic lunatics (either QAnon or MAGA, since one is just the full-on conspiracy wing of the other) is absurd.

The people using that term aren’t maga, they’re leftists criticizing liberals for doing/supporting things we all agreed were bad under Trump, such as putting thousands of immigrants into concentration camps and illegally denying asylum seekers.

Eh, I think it gets the point across. Those on the left criticize MAGA because it’s kind of a cult, and then they go back to the cult on their side of the fence. It’s just the pot calling the kettle black.

Some oligarchs are trying to remove Biden, some oligarchs are trying to retain him, and we have virtually no say in the matter, so there’s no point in getting invested in this inter-oligarch drama.

I won’t disagree with this but DNC handlers and their “journalist” lackeys are spamming my feed bro…

Any discussion off pre-approved script gets you ban hammer in politics and news subs.

Pretty much same dynamics as reddit. These parasites are every where.

I love watching all the media effort and all the money being spent to turn public opinion, while so many of that very public try to convince us that our opinions don’t matter

Studies show that our opinions don’t matter. BBC, 2014: [Princeton & Northwestern] Study: US is an oligarchy, not a democracy

The US is dominated by a rich and powerful elite.

So concludes a recent study, external by Princeton University Prof Martin Gilens and Northwestern University Prof Benjamin I Page.

This is not news, you say.

Perhaps, but the two professors have conducted exhaustive research to try to present data-driven support for this conclusion. Here’s how they explain it:

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organised groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on US government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence.

In English: the wealthy few move policy, while the average American has little power.

Oh I vote blue no matter who but I still criticize them.

But when republicans start siding with a man-child, rapist, racist, conman, child rapist, sociopathic, fascist, narcissistic traitor just so they can push through more bullshit laws for money that won’t help Americans whatsoever, you kinda only have one option unless you want to see America fail in real time.

Even if they weren’t still supporting that monster, they have been constantly lying about everything for a while now. Can’t trust those people at all.

Republicans vote straight red because their propaganda has vilified Democrats for 70+ years and lies to them about nearly everything. Democrats vote blue because they see exactly how ridiculous republicans have become.

Contrived media bs. His ratings are still within a point of where they were before the debate. People know they’re electing a platform, they’re electing the next supreme Court justices, they’re electing someone with experience, not a public speaker. They want someone who tells the truth slowly, not someone who lies quickly.
