Perseverance rover finds possible signs of ancient Red Planet life - “On Earth, these types of features in rocks are often associated with the fossilized record of microbes living in the subsurface.”
The government can produce probes, rovers, etc. that far outlast their estimated life in the harsh conditions of space, but the free market has trouble building devices that last more than a year or two lmao.
A lot of the issues with today’s kit, is that it’s designed to last only a year or two, just get it beyond warranty period is all the designers are required to do.
