There is such a taboo against calling out propagandists and intellectually dishonest posters. EVERY FUCKING MOD WILL ARGUE FOR THE FUCKING BOT’S POSITION.
EVERY FUCKING TIME!
Mod: Well, how do you know they are forum manipulators?
Me: Because they are using commonly used forum manipulation techniques A, C, and F, constantly change their personality and positions to maximally affect the thread they are currently in, and only ever post on politically charged topics despite 99.9% of Lemmy’s userbase also participating in non-political communities normally, and uses syntax structure and word choices that align with 80% of confirmed Putinbots.
Mod: That’s not enough, I’m silencing you for 3 days for harassment.
FUCK EVERY SHITSTAIN MOD THAT HAS LET LEMMY GET THIS BAD IN SUCH A SHORT TIMW!
FUCK EVERY FORUM MANIPULATOR ACTIVELY WORKING TO RATCHET THIS ENTIRE PLANET TOWARDS NEOFASCISM!
I got banned for 30 days from c/worldnews@lemmy.ml for calling out a Chinese bot account. Looked over the mods. One active in the last week. Spouts CCP propaganda on a regular basis.
Yep, Lemmy has a lot of empty space and the bots are racing to fill it.
And the admins don’t care, as usual.
Just block ml, they’re actively anti user. They exist solely to push Chinese and Russian talking points. There are plenty of regular users that joined that instance because it’s run well from an uptime perspective, but I’m willing to lose them to their own complacency/ignorance.
Is there a way to kind of defederate yourself from certain instances, like the whole of .ml? Or do you just have to play whack-a-mole?
On a web browser, login to your account, and you can defederate yourself from an entire instance. They can see what you post, but all their accounts and posts will never be shown to you.
I got banned from c/worldnews on lemmy.world for making the tired “how do you know someone uses arch” joke but about tankies. It’s kinda wild how bad these early days of community moderation are going.
