      GILGAMESH GREAT GOD-KING

FIGHT MANY FOES, CONQUER MANY ENEMIES

More seriously, Gilgamesh was the protagonist of the one of the oldest pieces of known literature, the Epic of Gilgamesh, a series of poems written in ancient Sumeria (around modern-day Iraq). Very classic mythology stuff, quarreling with the gods, musing on mortality and the briefness of human existence. I’ve actually never read it, but I know the outline of it. As one of the oldest ‘heroes’ (in the… classical sense, not the ‘good person’ sense) of literature, he gets a good shout-out for his trailblazing existence now and again.
