I bought a vinyl of the soundtrack to 2001 A Space Oddyssey at a antique store.

The clerk told me “oh wow, that’s the year I was born!”

My wife tells the story that my response was the most deadpan “cool” she has ever heard.

I was getting gas 6-7 years ago. The attendant pointed at my Strong Bad decal and got all excited because he used to sit on his dad’s lap and watch them on the computer.

      😒

Being able to live with it is different than being able to watch it again for the first time through your kid.

If they are interested. (Mine doesn’t care for sci fi yet)

Wait a few more years to when senility sets in and you can watch it all again for the first time.

If they’re in primary school, start them off on Odd Squad.

It’s a madcap Canadian TVO Kids (TV Ontario) public broadcaster educational math show that was made with partner funding from PBS in the United States, and is now available online in many other countries.

The creators and writers clearly knew and referenced Star Trek.

‘The Trouble with Centigurps’ ’ episode is a straight up Tribble Trouble homage with skip counting.

Here’s a season one Odd Squad trailer.
