This episode didn’t work for me. Taking Lisa away from the rest of the family (and most of the supporting characters too) then adding an avant-garde arts scene with a set of new characters we’ve never seen before just didn’t connect with me. Someone on Reddit said that this episode is a parody of a movie called After Hours which I’ve never heard of or seen before so maybe I’m missing something,

Also according to Wikipedia there are two Halloween episodes this season, but neither of them are scheduled to air before Halloween. What the hell?

Re Halloween, yeah I have no idea why they did that. When I saw there were two I thought, “Nice, one before and one after”, but one the week after and then late November, why?

Re, taking Lisa away from the family, obviously I love the family, but I appreciate the uniqueness (I think) of a Lisa solo adventure.

I would have liked more appearances of side characters like Chalmers, Hoover & Lunchlady Doris. The celebrity cameos are fine, but someone we knew already, even a previous cameo, would have been fun.

I haven’t watched the Simpsons in a while, I liked the background designs while they were running through the city

This is a weird season. When is the last time we had an episode with no B plot and just followed one character?

Also, when was the last time we visited Capitol City?

Also, did Lisa just abandon her aunts?

Either way a fun little episode. My favorite joke was easily Marge’s “A mother knows”.
