The app is very rough and only have search functionality and might need months to get to great point, but I am super relived to see someone working on a true third party native client.
I wanted to share it with the community here, because the wikipedia app for android sucks on so many levels.
i disagree on some of the points, but theyre all fair.
But it shows up in fdroid for me, so im not sure why you say it isnt

There was a few months where Wikipedia was reverted to a very old version as newer versions didn’t meet their build standards. That has since been fixed.

I get at least an update every two weeks or so… and it worked for at least the last four years, since I installed it from f-droid.
