Idk if saying “thanks” for people hanging out with you is a smart move, but it im probably overthinking it

        WTF? Why?

Me and my friends always thank each other after spending fun time together, how is it even controversial?

Its not controversial and i also do that after hanging out with friends but it matters how u say it.

Anon would probably go “thanks for hanging out with me” which would sound kinda depressing but i guess the people in this hypothetical scenario were aware that he was a loner so it wouldnt be an issue actually.

This is a (micro-)cultural thing. Common for some groups of people, really uncommon for others.

I always thank my friends for having a good time. It’s easy when saying goodbyes. “Hey thanks for hanging out, it was fun!”
