I’m still using a 1700X and, although I probably ought to get a latest-generation-AM4 upgrade, apparently even the 5800X3D is “only” 47% faster? Not sure I can be bothered for anything that isn’t at least twice as fast.
Yeah, I suspect these CPUs will be used by people who needs a cheap CPU for old/used AM4 motherboards, AMD has been selling them for almost a decade at this point so it’s a cheap way to get a good computer.
I am an AM4 (5800X) as well and don’t see much reason for upgrading.
Although I am considering getting a 5800X3D before they stop selling it. It’s still pretty pricey where I live though.

3900x gang checking in, I have not found a justification to replace it yet because I don’t want to upgrade the board and memory.
Why upgrade if it works fine for you needs? :)
