The free market of politicians for sale has opted to buy only the politicians willing to pay teachers poverty-level wages for extremely difficult, emotionally exhausting job that has an impossible list of to-dos in an impossibly short amount of time.

Public school teachers experience EVERY single one of the worst elements of capitalism either directly or indirectly by only one or two degrees of separation. Never underestimate how shitty life is for teachers specifically because of capitalism

This isn’t a politicians issue - well, not directly and one of the few that isn’t their fault.

Politicians have to be voted in. Any that tries to increase rates, costs or taxes gets voted out. Its not them - its us voting for our own interests… pretty good prisoners dilemma application actually. If every politician increased the costs we would all be better off - better educated students, more engaged teachers, follow on effects of lower crime and better work prospects - but if 5 potential have it as their platform and the 6th reduces the cost of living who gets in?

The only politicians who gain any traction in the public eye before an election are the ones who have already been bought and paid for by megadonors or massive parties. That’s where their campaign funds and so much more come from. Politicians not wanting to appropriately fund or staff schools is 100% a capitalism issue and it is the fault of the system that we never see schools with the right amount of funds or teachers.
