      It depends on the exact definition of wet.

      According to theWebster dictionary and the OED water is wet:

      consisting of, containing, covered with, or soaked with liquid (such as water)

      Consisting of moisture, liquid. Chiefly as a pleonastic rhetorical epithet of water or tears.

      According to the Cambridge dictionary it’s not.
