They have not seen enough of our struggles and lack the capactity to understand or empathize with them as struggles at all. Their struggles, and later comfort, let’s be honest, have numbed them and fitted blinders to their judgement.
I think this is because FOX hadn’t fully got its hooks into setting boomers against their kids for being “soft” and “ruining America” yet.
Once those hooks are in, suddenly the latter panel applies.
They don’t see the contradiction because they think their eyes have been opened to the truth.

The quote is from 2015, though the concept is not new. As well as being entertained, I am here to learn, so I would ask if you could expound on your statement? His description seems to describe a fascist as a “weak man”. I’m just not familiar with what you are referencing.
