    This is pretty spot on and is the fate of any [not just] art movement.

    It is of course not the people’s fault, they don’t exactly decide what the next `pop’ thing will be. In many cases, their first encounter with a certain style/movement happens only once it turns into pop culture, which in turn perpetuates the misunderstanding of what the original intention of the movement was.

    Just know the superficial elements are nitpicked and focus-group’d to ensure maximum profitability.
