to be fair, the best response to that is just “Greetings!” and then you watch them trying to comprehend. and don’t get me started on people that hit send after every other word…

I don’t like it when someone messages me and they start with only “hello” or “hi” without adding anything else. Especially if it’s someone I don’t know yet. Please give me something more to get the conversation going!

My least favorite is when someone sends a chat message like “Hi, can I ask you a question?” and you just know the reason they didn’t come out and say it is because they want to put you on the spot so you’re obligated to respond to be polite

“Can I ask you a question?” is a funny one. They already did, so what they are actually asking is if they can ask you ANOTHER question.

Yeah, life be that way sometimes.

But at the same time receiving just plain "Hello"s on the regular gets… Difficult.

Tell me a bit about yourself who are you? I’ve gotten burnt out by investing into playing hellos and then them ghosting so I have a difficult time responding to them now. I definitely put a lot more effort into someone that reaches out with something to kick a conversation off with.

Kind of sucks if you, the person receiving the hello, are expected to bring the conversation.

    Keep at it!
