Hi all! I have a Fairphone 4 that is serving me very well, but it occasionally reacts as if someone had touched the screen, such as scrolling randomly, zooming in in the camera, pulling down the settings menu, etc. I assume that there’s something on the display that occasionally activates something.
I have cleaned the display several times, but still have the issue. Before I buy a new display to swap it out, which costs 70€, I’d like to know if anyone else has had this issue, and if you found a good way to fix it other than swapping out the display :).

Yes this is a common issue on FP4 sadly. Lots of huge forum threads about it and basically no response from the company after years of asking. Installing a new screen seems to sometimes fix it but not always. (Someone suggested a sort of “pair” behaviour, where some screens work fine with one device but not the other) I had it on my phone too, but it kind of just went away almost completely. Anecdotally i feel like there might be a correlation between low battery and frequency of ghost inputs. Have you tried resocketting the display cable yet? That seems to have helped many people and is fairly easy to do and free.
Had that on the FP3. Ended up buying a new display. Though 70€ is much cheaper than for other phones.
I had this happenong to my fp4, an update 1 or 2 years ago greatly improved the behavior.
Still happens rarely if my fingers are very close to the edge of the screen). Bit it’s manageable
