If you let people live anywhere they want and ignore the issues they create your children will inherit worse world than we have today.
For example women fought for decades for equal rights in Europe. Now let people from countries who do not believe in equal rights come to Europe and you will see how women situation will become. I know many immigrants who do not allow their wives to work and think women should do home work and take care of children. Worse those people even when they come as immigrants become permanent residents and get citizenship very easily after few years living in my country and will start voting. In my country they no longer do long interviews for citizenship as before. You get asked two or three questions that everybody memorize and that is all.
On the other hand, what I’ve observed in the US is that the individual states have the power to create their own issues, and largely what happens is that people will self-select to states whose policies they agree with. Republicans in California yearn to move to Idaho, a much more Republican state, where the locals can smugly judge them for being from California. Indeed, many Latinos fit in well with many of the cultural aspects of the US (except that they’re brown lmao), want many of the same things as native citizens, and even skew conservative (many illegal-turned-legal immigrants love watching Fox News bitch about illegal immigration). I, personally, believe in strong social policy and have a strong desire to immigrate to Western Europe. I would gladly swap places with one of your reactionaries who would, doubtless, be happier than pigs in shit in the US. We’ve got the fuck around policies of anti-immigrant rhetoric and the find out policies of the police state and scrapping of all social programs so the billionaires can save a few bucks. It’s everything a reactionary could wish for, and it’s West Europe’s future unless you let those people go be where they can truly be happy-- the US.
Why is that a delusional thing to want?
