So, Krasnov is a russian surname clearly derived from “krasnyi” (красный), meaning “red”. I guess they picked it based on the shade of his face?
Krasnov was also a military leader during the Russian Civil War who also collaborated with the Nazis.
He was associated with the Don region which is currently a war goal for Russia in Ukraine.
Was he using that makeup that long ago? If you go find pictures of him in the 70s & 80s he looks like a normal dude
