A largely automated pro-Russian news website has been used to “launder” propaganda on Australian topics in the lead-up to this weekend’s federal election.

Pravda Australia has increased its output significantly since mid-March, in what experts say is an attempt to sway AI chatbots to spread “Russian narratives”.

Liberal home affairs spokesperson James Paterson says any allegations of foreign interference should be taken seriously and investigated.

    Is this not a campaign to make Australia’s think that our government is elected by Russia to make us try kick them out?

      The article mentions that some of the sources used to poison the models are far right, so that doesn’t support that narrative, but it wouldn’t surprise me if someone on the right wanted to spin it that way anyway.

        The Coalition probably used these models to predict what the Electorate wanted.

        This would explain why their policies were so Tone-Deaf.
