      maaaaybe :P

I’m always looking at batteries and forgot just how big an impact this rebate will have, literally shaving 3-6k off the price, it’s massive!

I have a Sonnen 10kw already and it’d be great for someone who wants a set and forget but I really want to go up to a 25KW model, batteries imo have the same inflection as solar, go as big as you can afford because why the hell not

I’d also like to export to the grid and Sonnen don’t seem inclined to give me the password to access the API

Yeah, these next three years are really going to wrap up the energy ‘debate’ in this country. I think it was renew economy’s podcast that said we’ll be getting to 52% renewables in the electricity system this year or next year. So about in line with that Guardian headline someone put up a few days ago.

They stated that while discussing the possibilities of a coalalition nuclear roll out. Nuclear in their brainfart of an idea was supposed to cover about 48% of energy needs across the nation, so conclusion of a Liberal win in last weeks election would have been a steep cut off in anymore significant 'green’energy investments across the nation.

So glad that hasn’t come to pass. And instead we’re looking at continuing the roll out we’ve seen, and it probably gathering pace as the sectors confidence grows.

By the time a Liberal government comes back in Federally, i could easily see us above 60%.

I might start keeping an eye out on Aus Institute and places like that for an updated expected energy mix over the next few decades.
