If you think they’re doing well, you and I have a fundamental disagreement on what a good life is.

They seem to be having the time of their lives in most parts of the world. Not like I am happy about that. But they win elections and get to shape legislation and to make others miserable, that’s “doing well” in my book.

So power. Power is doing well in you’re book.

Fine. I’m not gonna argue that, most people would agree with you. I’ll just reiterate you and I have a fundamental disagreement on what doing well and what a good life is. Because to me doing well and a good life are defined by so much more than just whether or not you have power over people.

Who said anything about “a good life”?

Look, I don’t think we’re in disagreement here. I also wasn’t entirely serious in my first post but sardonic. What I’m saying is that right now they’re getting what they want - which, I’d argue, is one way to “be doing well”. Whether or not that makes you happy in the long run is a different matter. But right now they’re winning a lot of fights - they’re doing well.
