Piefed has a community migration feature, albeit the history is not viewable on Lemmy, just on Piefed.
Still seems like the most viable solution.

There is a whole instance for hardware at https://hardware.watch/. I could create a community there and add both mods there if you want.
I don’t mind moving to hardware.watch.
Are there multiple admins who manage hardware.watch or just one? Don’t want another lemm.ee situation. :)
