I can’t use it at all with any third party clients. I can only open the instance site.
I had trouble logging into lemmy.sdf.org from the Android client all day. Worked just now though 🤷♂️.
Funny. The site is broken for me but my clients work fine.
Same here. Site went down while I was on it, still is. Connect app is working.
I have had issues with a couple lemmy instances today. I think there is both a software upgrade and a massive influx of users going on.
Hardware upgrades too
Oddly I can only load lemmy.sdf.org from mobile data. If I’m on wifi it doesn’t work. If I use a VPN on my wifi it also doesn’t work.
Ah, someone else is experiencing the same thing.
It’s working again for me today. No idea what may have changed
I’ll just chime in and say that I’ve been having issues as well for the last 12 or so hours. Sometimes the mobile site works, sometimes it doesn’t and jumping between the desktop and Jerboa app sometimes gets me connected but it has been very inconsistent and unreliable on all platforms during this time frame.
The API’s working just fine. Here’s what I get when I query it for this post:

Interesting. It’s hit or miss for me. I was somehow able to get the client i use to login and fetch posts but it’s extremely slow.
It’s been up and down all evening for me, and it’s inconsistent. Sometimes I can’t load anything in wefwef but can with Memmy (like right now), and sometimes neither will fetch. I did go to sdf.org (the website) and it was chugging so my guess is their servers are experiencing some unaccustomed load. 🤪
It does make me wonder about scale as the federation grows.
SDF upgraded to 0.18.1-rc.4 recently. There might be some issues with the latest upgrade.

I’m having issues finding particular communities from SDF.
For instance, I’m trying to get subbed to !fgc@lemmy.world from SDF, but SDF is unable to find it at all. I’m part of other lemmy.world communities, so it seems strange to me that it can’t find !fgc.
Anyone else know why this might be happening?
Currently lemmy.world is temporarily blocked while they do some hardware upgrades to be able to handle all the extra load coming from over there.
database crying i bet 😅
