02 July 2023 Each attempt to create a new community fails. I have created 7 communities successfully prior to this one over multiple days.
Now, upon clicking Create button, the Create button is greyed out, loading icon spins and no community is created. Create button then reverts to normal. No error message is presented on the page.
This has been happening for last 90-120 minutes as of time of original post.
I have run a search on All communities, and the community name doesn’t exist before I click create. I have also searched after clicking create and the community does not show.
3 July 2023 06:22UTC I still have this issue. I have closed the previous page and opened a new Create Community page. Options selected are:
- Community Name is one sting of lower case letters, no spaces at start or end or anywhere between the characters, no numbers or symbols. (If I do not adhere to the format, I get the error message to advise correct format.)
- Community Display Name is multiple words separated by one space, all title case i.e. every word capitalized. No spaces at start or end, and no numbers or symbols.
- Icon added successfully
- No Banner
- Sidebar has text
- NSFW not checked
- Only moderators can post to this community not checked
- Languages = undetermined
Before trying again, I have run a search on All communities, and the community name doesn’t exist before I click create. I have also searched after clicking create and the community does not show.
I have tried using Vivaldi Browser 6.1.3035.100 and Microsoft Edge Version 114.0.1823.67 (Official build) (64-bit).
6 July 2023 06:22UTC Issue resolved, seems to be an issue with length of community name - max appears to be 20 characters. No message if more than 20 characters entered. Upon clicking Create button, the Create button is greyed out, loading icon spins and no community is created. Create button then reverts to normal. No error message is presented on the page.
Make sure you only use lowercase letters and no special characters. That was the issue I was having, as the error message is broken.
