Since the election I’ve seen the topic of Presidential Succession come up a few times. With all the questions about Trump’s health this past week I started to wonder about this.

Many people know that if Trump dies Vance will become president. Some seem to think that Johnson, as Speaker of the House, would then become Vice President but that is wrong. The succession would only lead to Johnson if Vance were also unable to perform the duties of President.

If, or more likely when, Trump dies or becomes incapable of performing his duties, Vance will become President and, per the 25th Amendment, will choose his Vice President.

25th Amendment: Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

So my question is, who will Vance choose? Since he only needs a majority of both houses, and the Republicans control both, he could appoint virtually anyone Peter Thiel and/or the Heritage Foundation want him too.

P.S. I would like to add that since Republicans cannot be sure of control of both houses after the midterms, I am confident that, if Trump doesn’t die, they will use the 25th to remove him from office well before the midterms to avoid a potential fight over the appointment of the new Vice President.

Vance is only in the position as VP because of the heritage foundation. The Heritage Foundation will likewise choose the next VP.

As much as I want to see Trump dead. Things aren’t going to get better. We’re going to replace bumbling idiot fascism wirh competent professional fascism.
