      Yeah most of these get a slight blast of air through the nose at best these days

        Fair, but imagine that you’re in the 1920s and there are very few comics available to you. The newspapers and magazines are the only media that presents them.

          Yeah I get that, but even by the 90s comic strip standards (the last time I regularly read newspaper comics) it’s terribly dated.
