    Nope. No pets allowed. However in the interest of harm reduction you may adopt an animal companion from a shelter as long as you don’t treat like property. Note that the primary concern is not the pleasure of the human, which you have correctly pointed out is definitely not vegan, but the well-being of the animal.

    I do object to feeding them vegan food if they’re not vegetarian in the wild. The only party being satisfied by that arrangement is the owner and their inflated ego, overshadowing the very nature of their pet.

    Vegan diets are possible for a lot of animals that aren’t in the wild because we have access to stuff they don’t have in the wild. Also the animal that gets to live instead of being ground up into the treats used to teach mittens some showtricks to parade around is presumably rather satisfied with vegan cat and dog food as well.
