So google etc just says 1.5 times body weight blah blah blah,
Is that listed as a 1rm?
What’s everyone squat for ten reps?
Me personally I injured my back years ago and am very timid on the squat but I’m currently doing 110kgs for ten reps of 3 sets and I weigh 110kgs too. So I’m only squatting my body weight which according to google is absolute beginner trash it seems.
Yes, that’s a 1RM figure.
Don’t worry too much about how you stack up against standards, just try to make sure you’re making progress over time. Follow a reputable program for guidance until you know what works for you.
If you want to squat with less back involvement, you can also try belt squats instead.
Yes, it’s 1RM.
Some people elect not to test 1RM due to injury risk. With that said, as you do more reps, your form can break more than it would with a 1RM, so it’s really about what your priorities and risks are.
Depending on your age (<50ish, or so), I wouldn’t consider 1.5xBW to be a lifetime goal; you’ll get past that with training (I’m chasing 2x squat, 3x deadlift myself). A rough estimate from one source is that your 1RM could be over 150kg. You do 3x10, so it’s not a true 10RM.
Whether it’s light or heavy, what matters is that you’re out there working.

My goals are just big and strong, all my lifts are good and line up with internet’s shit but my squat is so light in comparison I think.
So I was just curious what others are squating or if they knew if the 1.5 kg body weight is for1l 1rm or not
When I say beginner trash I’m referring to weight lifting not fitness.
I don’t expect a marathon runner to bench their body weight but a weight lifter should be able to

Yeah I’ve been adding 2.5kg a side for a few months since having my wrist reconstruction.
I don’t plan to stop I’ve been in and out of the gym for the last 15 years but my squat is weak i think
What does Tom Platz say ?
I think you’re seeing 1RM ?
