    Nextcloud was forked from OwnCloud to add these features and functionality. If you didn’t need them you probably shouldn’t have been using Nextcloud in the first place.

        …no? OwnCloud is just file storage and sharing. NextCloud is like a Google Workspace/Teams alternative.

          they are both pretty much the same, support similar plugins etc. and both always were a cloud storage systems

              of course in detail they differ a lot. but both support desktop clients, cloud drive, Web sharing, caldav and carddav plugins etc.
