But if you look at the hard data from NASA’s satellites, you can see that all climate models underestimate how much energy the Earth absorbs. It takes a while for that energy to translate into surface temperature – just like water in a pan doesn’t boil immediately, even if you double the heat input (but then it does boil twice as fast). Three degrees is extremely disastrous.
