That’s bad news. I was thinking about going back to it. I don’t play games with microtransactions unless it’s a “freemium” thing. Are there any games similar to WoW that are subscription only?

Not defending the decision because I also dislike micro transactions but if you were OK with the existing shop, you should be ok with this, too. It’s a currency to buy cosmetics for the new housing feature - not even cosmetics for your character.
Meanwhile, the cash shop has every type of cosmetic AND you can buy gold.
The current expansion is one of the best they’ve ever released but I’m not holding my breath for midnight with the changes to addons.
If you’re a mythic+ enjoyer, check out the game Fellowship. Not an MMO but it’s basically the same the WoW mythic dungeon system as a standalone game
@glimse I haven’t played WoW in over 10 years. I don’t recall what I was “ok with” a decade ago.
