foreign communities do not show up, but you can find any community to remote follow, e.g. search for
https://feddit.de/c/deutschlandand click on iti am sure that was there already… did you switch to “all” communities on the “communitys” page?
now many foreign communities show up, i assume this was a starting issue when the server didn’t have the other sites cached yet
Related to this, I would like to subscribe to https://lemmy.ml/c/fitness and don’t know how
Use the search and search with the following syntax: !fitness@lemmy.ml – if it is not showing results, it may take a second, sometimes it lists it but seems to forget to return a result there^^
This is mainly why there is something listed in the first place, the instance needs to learn and is very young :)

ah, it is then listed under the communities tab it seems.
sadly that part is a bit inconsistant, yes, but sometimes it returns something in the search 🤷
