Now, in what may seem like a tipping point, the digital marketing firm Graphite recently published a study showing that more than 50% of articles on the web are being generated by artificial intelligence.

Gee, that’s an extraordinary claim. Graphite? What the fuck is that company? I assume they are deeply invested in the success of AI. Anybody on the net can say anything. Also - this made me laugh!..

The quantity of AI-generated articles has surpassed the quantity of human-written articles being published on the web.

I feel like most of the internet is heading for extinction outside if a few social media spaces, if not already tbh

It sucks, but maybe there will be some kind of backlash and we’ll see less corporate spaces come alive.

My pet theory which I am sure I have been spamming elsewhere is the backlash will take the form of a return to the analog. We see shades of this already with the revival of vinyl records and land lines. I can see snail mail, typewriters, and answering machines following. Film photography.

As all humanity is stripped and flooded from the online space by the cultural hot dog we will retreat offline in search of creativity and connection

      monke-return

Edit: all of this stuff is optional. We don’t need the Internet to live or even to thrive. We survived just fine before it and collectively we can go back.

it’s not because who tf is going to read that bullshit; human writing might become unprofitable, and if you believe that only profitable things are worthwhile then indeed, nobody will ever write anything ever
