I was playing one of my “therapy games;” a game that, like, I use for therapy, ya know? I saw a line I hadn’t seen:

“Thank you for showing these monsters how to love.”

Context aside, it got me thinking, self-reflecting.

I’ve been trying to “set aside” our arguments, trying to show my brother, my mom I’m still me.

I’m trying to love them, despite how I feel they have slighted me. I’m trying to show them how to love.

Before you write them off completely, try to show the monsters in your life how to love (with healthy boundaries, of course). The results may surprise you.

I am so proud of you for taking the step to being able to tell your family! Let alone working on showing them how to love you. We’re all the same people we were before - were just now MORE of ourselves that we thought was possible.

I love you for coming out to those around you. I’m not quite ready for that yet. My wife and therapist knows, but no one else so far. Kinda scared of that part. Lol

Well, good luck, and we can try to give you what emotional support we can here. We try to be a supportive lot, though I’ve been known to be a bit of a hard-ass. I’m trying to be better.
