A lot of white guys are told by our society, both implicitly and explicitly, that they are supposed to be “successful” when very few people actually are. People with no class analysis who have never faced the direct and brutal hand of capital will fall for the first easy answer that gives them a solution to their problem, regardless of whether that solution actually works, or whether their problems are actually even valid.
