I created this community because I couldn’t find anything like it on lemmy and i was bored, most of the systems i have are also low end. I felt making this space would be helpful for those with worse machines than me.
Also, you’re welcome to say hi or ask a question here, or even make your own post.
Played several boomer shooters on my (older, non-gaming) laptop, all ran great. Blood, Ion Fury, Dusk, even Nightmare Reaper through Bottles was fast.
Good idea for a community, especially since prices of hardware have gone crazy, and a lot of us are going to be making do with what we have for a while.
I don’t know how low is “low”, but I’m gaming on a 1070, which is still going strong with some relatively new games at 1080p.
I’m using a Raspberry Pi. I bet those specs are worse than yours! Kuddos for the community.
May i ask which model of pi and how much RAM it has?
Raspberry Pi 400 runs DOOM 3 better than an Xbox, stop flexing
Hi! I have a Ryzen 7 7700X with integrated Radeon graphics. Amy ideas for what I could do with it? No GPU of course!
I guess factorio? As long as you don’t plan on building something gigantic, it should run ok.
The need for this community is only going to increase in the foreseeable future
I’m all about this community. Been gaming on a 2017 laptop with integrated Intel graphics.
As a patient gamer, I’m here for it!
Yes, patient gamers unite!
My system is not really low spec…. But most of my favorite games fall into that category, so I hope y’all will take me in!
Such a cool comm idea!
well well well…
I’ll run Shadow of the Tomb Raider on a 2400G at 480p bro
I’ll effing… effing… bro I run Helldivers 2 on my walmart laptop instead of my 7600 because I like the pixels bro, i savor the low effects setting bro
bro I stay up til dawn fascinated with the performance of Pillars of Eternity on a 3700U from 2019 bro, I don’t give two craps skewered on a crampon
i ran Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines on a Direct X 9.0b Pentium 4 Laptop that crashed every 20 minutes bro, i am the lowest spec
Hi! My low-spec gaming rig is primarily a product of: 1)
cheapnessfrugality where I want most of the same PC to last 6-10 years, 2) not upgrading my GPU because the whole situation with 3070 GPUs, and 3) not being too much into gaming, except for Cities Skylines, American Truck Simulator, and MSFS2020.Cities Skylines is more CPU intensive, so my few-years old Ryzen can handle that. I’m sure ATS and MSFS2020 could look better, but ultimately I get more value out of the feel of the gaming wheel and joystick than what I can see on-screen. To each their own.
I always like to suggest retro games because most systems can run upto atleast playstaion 1 and before. Im sure there’s a way to play something you like via emulation.
