    A10 fans dont need any help coping, they’ve been huffing military grade copium about that shitbucket platform since before I was born

      The A-10 is what happens when you try to make a flying tank. The A-10 is also proof why you shouldn’t make a flying tank.

      It’s not about how much the airframe sucks, I don’t think any of us hesitate to admit that. However, if you can think of a better way of getting a GAU-8 Avenger airborne and somewhat maneuverable, I’m sure we would find it to be just as cool.

    Still not understanding how over-the-horizon engagement makes it a fighter. Ignoring the war-crime baggage(distraction?), you’re targetting requires the technological-equivalent of a Forward Observer Calling-For-Fire … you’re a flying missile platform, effectively an artillery piece, or a Bomber.

      It’s a fighter because it’s still got a forward gun albeit one that would run dry with like 2 seconds of firing.

        Only one variant has a forward gun. Its so much of a token weapon that the aircraft was flying missions for years before they fixed its accuracy problems.
